TO WALK


The region offers many outdoor activities. There are walking routes through the village along various landscaped natural and herb beds with various information.

Swinging through a Klamm or Schlucht is something different.

BICYCLES


This beautiful area is also suitable for cycling enthusiasts. You can take various routes, including by mountain bike or bicycle a part of the Drauradweg or the Alpe Adria Radweg.

ENGINE


Of course, the area is also perfect for exploring by motorbike. Superb routes with great views.

The Großglockner Hochalpenstrasse is a 1-hour drive from B&B Irschen. A great route to the highest mountain in Austria.

Other beautiful routes are Nockenalmstrae, Villacheralpenstrae, Goldeck Panoramastrae, Malta Hochalmstrae and the Staller Sattel-Pass in Italy.


With the Kärnten Card in your pocket, you can ride these routes as often as you want for free.

WINTER ACTIVITIES


Even in winter there is plenty to do in the area. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or ice skating on the Weissensee, known for The Alternative Elfstedentocht.


Several large and small ski areas are within an acceptable distance. The nearest is Zettersfeld Bergbahnen in Lienz, 20 minutes by car from Irschen with wonderful descents for young and old.

ITALY & SLOVENIA


If you're tired of the activities or just want to explore the area and stroll through sleepy towns or larger towns, you can always check out the neighbours.


Italy (e.g. Udine, Bolzano, Venice) and Slovenia (e.g. Ljubljana) are within acceptable distance for a nice day trip.
